As a Compound Development Production Leader (Compound Dev Engineer) of Decathlon Vietnam, you will be responsible for making sure any compounds going into indus/production will meet the physical requirements and are completely validated to give our shoes the best performance possible. This would be done through working directly with chemical, raw material & compounders suppliers.

In detail:

• Collaborate with Bottom Tech teams network (in FR, in TW FootwearAdvancedBooster, Sports...) to select & drive best compounds development & validation.

• Invent and implement new innovative compounds for midsole/outsole by using novel materials and ingredients with a focus on company stakes (performance and sustainability)

• Validate all new compounds which have been approved to go into production by evaluating the global feasibility – lab testing, logistics, supply chain, capacity, tech feasibility.

• Set up the compound physical property standards to be followed in production.

• Work hand in hand with Sole Process Engineer on Sole Indus stage (cooperating with existing compound and injection partners to address any issues happening in current production and problem-solving to fix the issues) to ensure your compounds are feasible in manufacturing. Supporting trial runs at supplier during compound development & industrialization when necessary

• Keep market connection to be upfront of new available solutions. Ability to source suppliers that can provide the best solution

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Excellent chemical know-how on polymer / rubber / elastomer/ thermoplastic.

• Practical experience of Steam Chest Molding and SuperCriticalFoaming processes

• Up-to-date about rubber / thermoplastic trend of development on the market.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in material formulation.

• Good network on chemical / raw material/ compounder suppliers.

• Know how to validate a compound

• Ability to give & take proactively information

• Strong leadership

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Chinese & Vietnamese are a plus

• Ability to analyze and solve problems

• Sport lover
